Throwing Technique to Second Base
Catch the ball deep. The ball is faster than your hand so do not go out to get it. Let it come to you.
As you receive the pitch, turn your left knee in to start the process of getting in line to make your throw.
Bring your glove to the center of your chest and make the transfer at your mid-line.
Separate thumbs down to pull the ball out of your glove with your fingers on top of the baseball.
Get both elbows to shoulder height with the front elbow and shoulder pointing to second base.
As you transfer, replace your feet. Right foot to left foot, left foot to target.
Keeping your elbow up, rotate the ball up towards your ear as you stride and throw it with a short and tight arm stroke.
Throwing Technique to Third Base
To have a clear lane to throw to third base, you need to make space behind a right handed batter.
As you receive the pitch, shift your hips to the left to start working behind the hitter. The hips lead into the throw.
With your right foot, step behind the left foot to create space.
Keep your hips back and your chest forward to get into an athletic position and balanced position to throw.
Throwing Technique to 1st Base
As you receive the pitch, turn your left knee in to start the process of getting in line to make your throw.

Take your right foot back underneath your body then stride to your target with your left foot.
