Parts of an Effective Pre-Pitch Routine
Lock in on your focal point... Pick something that is going to be there on game day.
Take big deep breath... In through your nose, out through your mouth.
Think a positive pre-pitch thought... Visualize yourself executing your plan.
You must practice your routine so that is there for you when you need it.
A Good Deep Breath...
Helps you focus on the present moment.
Helps you release negatives. When something bad happens, respond with a breath. As you exhale, think of blowing away the bad play.
Helps you get in control. A slow deep breath can help you slow the game down.
Helps you establish a sense of rhythm. Good players have a rhythm or tempo to their motions. Use your breath to get into a rhythm before each pitch.
