Feeds from 2B (4-6-3)
Right foot starts on the base with shoulders square to the second baseman.
Take a small step with your left foot towards the baseball to catch the ball then replace your feet to throw.
Get your feet in line with first base to make the throw.
Feeds from 1B (3-6-3 and 3-6-1)
If the first baseman fields the ball in front of the base line, setup square to him with your left foot on the inside part of second base.
Take your right foot to the ball to catch, then step with your left to throw.
If first baseman fields the ball behind the base line, setup square to him with your right foot on the outside part of second base.
Take your left foot to the ball to catch, then replace your feet to throw.
Feed from Pitcher or Catcher (1-6-3 and 2-6-3)
Square up to the pitcher with your left foot on the back of the base.
On a perfect throw to your chest, give with your right foot then step and throw.
On a less than perfect throw, take your right foot to the ball then step with your left foot to throw.
Take It Yourself (6-3)
After fielding the ball, shuffle towards the bag.
Step on second base as you step to throw to first base.
Start with your left foot on the back of second base and your right foot behind the base.
Square up your shoulders to the fielder by turning your torso.
If the ball is up the middle, drop your right foot more towards right field some to give the shortstop a better target.
Step and Throw Turn
If you get a good feed between your shoulders, simply catch the ball then step and throw.
Arm Side Turn
Take your right foot to the ball, then push hard off that foot to make the throw.
If you have to stretch far to the right, drag your left foot underneath you after the catch for balance, then push hard off the right foot and step and throw to first.
Come Across Turn
Come across the bag to make the catch by taking your right foot to the ball.
The right foot should land right at catch.
Step and throw after the catch.
If you prefer, you can also use this footwork when you get a good feed.
